Quality Assurance and The Stylecraft Standard

Stylecraft Builders is passionate about building each home as if we were building it for ourselves – so much so that we consider that our mission statement. We are committed to building a quality product for every person who purchases a home from us. We’re the first to admit that we’re not perfect, and as with any home builder, it’s imperative that we take appropriate measures to inspect our work. For years, we have had adhered to the industry standard and hired a third party TREC Certified Inspector inspect our homes. We are constantly evolving to better ourselves and our homes, and as we have grown we have realized a need for more thorough program for our homeowners. Thus, in 2017 we launched our in-house Quality Assurance Program, led by Richard Carilo our Director of Warranty and Quality Assurance.

Over the course of this past year we have hired an amazing team of detail oriented inspectors who are all TREC Certified and very knowledgeable in their field. Rather than conducting a traditional TREC Inspection, we have started usingFirst Time Quality (FTQ), a quality control software, to conduct more detailed inspections. Using FTQ allows us to customize our inspection reports, which enables us to exceed industry standards and provide our homeowners a much more thorough report on their home. Each home now receives a series of three in-house inspections. First is the Pre-Drywall Inspection which includes items such as the roof, framing, and mechanical rough-ins. The second inspection would be the Final Inspection which would consist of the operation and finish of the home, and the third inspection would be the Final Re-inspection to verify that anything outstanding on the previous inspection is complete.

We have rolled out this new program one region at a time, with the first region starting June 2017 and the final region starting last month, May 2018. It has been exciting to see the progress we have made, and we know it’s working as we have seen over a 45% reduction in service request received in the past year in the first region we rolled the program out.

We are glad to bring our customers even more peace of mind when they purchase a Stylecraft Builders home. We are so proud of the growth and progress made this year and look forward to even more improvement over the next several years as this system become more fine tuned.
